IQ Test Updates Based on Neurofeedback

The Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC) is an intelligence test individually administered to children between the ages of 6 and 16. It assesses a wide variety of cognitive abilities in order to compile an IQ score for each test-taker. This article proposes changes in the test based on using neurofeedback to treat learning disabilities in a private clinical setting. Researcher Michael Tansey, PhD, found that treatment with neurofeedback led to a significant reduction in learning disabilities and “normalized” performance in numerous areas on the WISC-R test.
